History

Protifast has specialized in the sale of hyperprotein products for protein-rich weight loss diets since 1994. Formerly known as Protidiet (1994 to 2004), the company now sells its products under its own trade name through pharmacies in France, or directly by mail order all over the Europe.
The success of the "French style" protein diet has resulted in an across-the-board range quality improvement.
The medical protocol for a protein-sparing fast was first devised by Pr Blackburn in the USA in 1973.
Internationally renowned nutritionists like Lidner, Bray, Atkinson, Wing, Warren, etc., developed today's protein diets.

The translation of the term PSMF (Protein Sparing Modified Fast) as "jeûne protéiné" was by Doctor Marineau, the first Canadian doctor to put Prof Blackburn's theory into application. In the 80s, Canadian doctors Laroque and Marineau, with their respective input from experience in diet clinics in Quebec, contributed extensively to the training of French doctors and the success of outpatient protein diets.

Today, the "so-called protein-sparing fast" principles are often used in the diet world, outside the strictly medical field.

Most hyperprotein diets are hypocalorie diets, protein enriched and lasting not more than 15 days. Protein diets are still widely prescribed all over Europe by many doctors in France, Italy or Spain. Many nutritionists use the technique as a simple starter for 2 or 3 days to get a weight loss program under way. In all cases, the final goal is a return to a balanced diet.

Many studies all over the world have demonstrated the efficiency and success of a hyperprotein diet when applied as required by the scientific protocols established by world renowned university researchers.

Everybody knows about how important and urgent it is to deal with overweight issues.
